Back in April, we announced that Canonical and Dell worked together on bringing the next-generation Ubuntu-based Dell XPS 13 laptop developer edition to the Ubuntu's strong developer community, but the fact of the matter is that, at that point in time, Dell launched two laptops, the Dell XPS 13 and the Precision M3800 mobile workstation.

As we didn’t had the chance to present its astonishing features, today we’re gonna take introduce you guys to the Dell Precision M3800 laptop, which was initially announced back in February 2015. While the XPS 13 Ultrabook is no on its fourth generation, the Precision M3800 is a new addition to Dell’s laptops designed for cloud developers.

“We are now up to the 4th generation of our Ubuntu-based Dell XPS 13 laptop, developer edition and have expanded the line to include the Dell Precision M3800 mobile workstation, developer edition. Ubuntu has been the perfect OS from the start given its popularity with developers and its cloud capabilities,” says Barton George, Director of developer programs at Dell services.

With its thin and light profile, Dell Precision M3800 boasts an Intel Core i7-4712HQ processor running at 2.30GHz or 3.3GHz in Turbo mode, integrated HD Graphics 4600, dedicated Nvidia Quadro K1100M graphics card, 15.6 inch LED backlit touch display with Truelife technology and Full-HD resolution (1920x1080), 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, 500GB 2.5 inch HDD, Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, and Bluetooth 4.0.

The Dell Precision M3800 laptop is customizable, so you will be able to choose up to 12GB 1600MHz DDR3L RAM, a different hard drive, an additional hard drive, a Dual Band 2.4/5 GHz Wireless card, a better battery, as well as a 15.6 inch UltraSharp IGZO UHD touch display with a 4K/2K resolution (3840x2160) offering Wide View AG LED-backlit with Premium Panel.
