When it comes to producing mobile computing systems for all testes and purposes, Dell does a good job and it shows in the success of one of its older mobile workstations: the Precision M90. Now M90 is getting a little bit old to successfully compete against similar products from Lenovo and Acer, so the bright boys from Dell decided to launch a new mobile workstation that received the name of Precision M6300. While the M6300 will not be available to customers for quite some time, a number of details have surfaced on the
Web.

According to several hardware news sites, like SpiceyGadget, the M6300 will feature a 17-inch widescreen display, that will go as far as the 1920×1200 resolution and a Blu-ray optical drive. Like any serious mobile workstation out there, Dell's Precision M6300 model will feature some really powerful processors: Core 2 Duo T7100 / T7300 / T7500 / T7700 or Core 2 Extreme X7800.

As the workstation is mostly designed with graphics professionals that are constantly on the move and use 3D application like AutoCAD, it comes with a professional high-end graphics solution, Nvidia's Quadro FX. Three separate models are available, depending on users preferences: the smaller 1600M with only 256MB of video memory, the medium built 2600M with 512MB and the heavy set 3600M which features 512MB too. The Nvidia Quadro FX line of graphics cards are specialized video solutions built for a certain kind of intensive 3D application: professional graphics.

Because professional graphics applications that are used for computer-aided design, digital content creation, and visualization need lots and lots of RAM to function properly, the Precision M6300 mobile workstation comes equipped with no less than 8GB of memory. While the exact pricing for the Precision M6300 is not yet known, Dell is expected to officially announce the workstation at the end of this month, August 31.
