Computer maker Dell is expected to come to the market in the near future with a new Android-based tablet PC, one that would follow the already available Dell Streak, and which reportedly sport the codename of Dell Opus One.

Leaked info on the new device suggests that we might see it brought to the market sometime in May 2011, but no specific info on what the slate would include emerged for the time being.

For the time being, the existence of this tablet PC is only a rumor, but the guys over at streaksmart suggest that the chances for it to prove real are high.

Moreover, they also came up with a series of details on what should be the tablet PC's specifications list.

It appears that Dell would plan on making the slate available with a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor inside, a Qualcomm second-generation Snapdragon series.

The first 1.2GHz application processors have been already pushed to shelves, inside Motorola's DROID 2 Global handset, so there is no wonder that Dell would plan aiming high with the next generation Streak.

However, we should note that the upcoming Dell Opus One is not referred to specifically as the successor of Dell Streak.

Other specs of the upcoming device include a higher, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display, which supposedly remains at the same dimension as the one on Streak, namely 5-inches.

Of course, we might never see the Dell Opus One being brought to the market, but, with the fast rate at which the smartphone and tablet market is advancing, we wouldn't be surprised if the rumor panned out.

As stated above, the slate is expected to arrive on shelves sometime towards the end of the second quarter of the next year, which means that it might take a while before more info on its are brought into the wild. Stay tuned for more on this.
