Computer maker Dell announced a few weeks ago plans to come to the market with a new device, the Android-powered Dell Mini 5 tablet, and now a series of videos with it are available for your viewing pleasure. The most interesting part of the new device is that, although on the outside it sports all the looks of an Android-based MID, it looks very much like a full-fledged 3G phone on the inside, which means that users should be able to enjoy a great deal of capabilities with it as soon as it arrives on the market.

Those of you who might not have encountered the Dell Mini 5 until now will certainly like to have a look at its specifications, and the guys over at Engadget, who posted a mini review of the device, along with the video embedded below, provide us with plenty of these. The tablet is expected to arrive on the market with the Android 1.6 OS on board, though chances are that Dell will pack it with something else, and it should be powered by a Snapdragon QSD8250 chipset, with a CPU clocked in at 1GHz.

At the same time, the device also sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, as well as 405MB of RAM, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, Bluetooth, WiFi and WCDMA connectivity options, a built-in GPS receiver and a proprietary port for wired connectivity, all packed inside a device that measures 152mm x 78mm x 10mm and weighs in at eight ounces. On the software side, the tablet comes with Google Mail, YouTube, Amazon MP3, WebKit browser, Google Maps , K-9 Mail and Quickoffice.

For what it's worth, the Dell Mini 5 seems to be a pretty nice addition to the lineup of available Android-based devices on the market, and has all the chances to prove very popular, considering its small size and its capabilities. Have a look at the photos and video below to make an idea on the device, and head over to Engadget for more info and for its impressions on it. And, in case you want to have a look at the phone's docking station, which is said to come with HDMI output and a USB port, you can do so here at T3.
