Computer maker Dell announced about two weeks ago the launch of its Mini 3i smartphone on the Chinese market, the company's first handset to run under the China-centric OPhone operating system, a platform based on Google's Android OS. The new Dell device has been expected to surface on the market for quite some time now and, although there are no exact details on when it will actually become available for purchase, we can admire it in a series of new images.

The new set of photos show the Dell Mini 3i in detail, and made it on the Web thanks to Sina. What can be seen here is the fact that it sports some changes when it comes to the Android interface most of you might be already accustomed with. At the same time, we should also mention that Dell's smartphone comes with some design changes as well, rather unusual for a mobile phone running under the Android OS, such as the lack of any buttons at the bottom of the screen.

The specification list of the device shows that it should come to the market with a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen that boasts a 360 x 640 pixel resolution, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper that also sports LED flash, and 2G (EDGE) connectivity. It seems that Chinese users won't be able to enjoy this phone on the upcoming 3G networks in the country, as the only wireless connectivity options that will be present with it will be 2G and Bluetooth (no Wi-Fi either).

Besides that, we can mention a microUSB slot and GPS receiver. Though not too impressive, one should agree, especially when it comes to connectivity, the device seems to have the looks and that should help it attract some users on its side. Until the Dell Mini 3i becomes available for purchase in China (and China only, it seems), you might want to take a look at some of the new images with it, or hit this link to view the entire gallery.
