Presented to the press for the first time in February of this year, Dell's Latitude XT3 convertible tablet is getting nearer to being launched as the company has recently updated its website to feature a product page for this new device.

The Latitude XT3 is a 13.3-inch notebook/tablet hybrid powered by Intel's second generation Core processors, also known as Sandy Bridge.

Users have the option of choosing between a large range of such chips from the Core i3, i5 and i7 product lines, as well as from all sort of connectivity options including WiMAX and mobile broadband.

Graphics is provided by the built-in HD 3000 GPU found inside Intel's Sandy Bridge mobile processors, and this is used to drive the 1366x768 screen of the Latitude XT3.

The most important feature of this panel is its support for touch input, since the screen can detect up to three simultaneous contact points and can also be used together with a stylus.

Another interesting addition that Dell has brought to the Latitude XT3 is the introduction of a backlit keyboard, which should come as a great aid to users who have to use Dell's creation in the dark.

The rest of the specifications list includes a self encrypting hard drive, 3- and 6-cell ExpressCharge battery options with a 9-cell extended battery for all day power, as well as HDMI and VGA video outputs.

Sadly, it is hard to say at this point in time when the Latitude X3 hits retail, as Dell was tight lipped about the availability of this convertible tablet, but, most probably, this will arrive by the end of summer.

Pricing is also an unknown, but more information should be released in the coming weeks. (via GottaBeMobile)
