Dell can certainly take its time before announcing a new product, but that doesn't stop the company from leaking details and generating hype around some of its upcoming releases. This goes for two of its new laptops, the Studio XPS 1340 and the Studio XPS 1640, which have been recently leaked onto the configuration page of the manufacturer's website. The two systems have been designed to provide users with two different form factors, with the XPS 1340 boasting a 13-inch display and the XPS 1640 coming to provide a larger, 16-inch display size.

According to the available information on the company's website, both systems will have the same $1199 price point, something that is yet to be confirmed. What is rather interesting is that both laptops appear to provide an impressive technical specification sheet, which could enable PC users to deal with two, highly-capable machines.

The basic configuration of the Studio XPS 1340 will provide its users with a Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, clocked at 2.26GHz and with 3MB of cache, 4GB of Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM, working at 1076MHz, a high-capacity 320GB 7200RPM SATA hard drive and an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G, powering the system's 13.3" HD WXGA LCD. Additionally, the laptop will be equipped with a 2MP webcamera, a slot load DVD optical drive, Dell's Wireless 1515 802.11n Half Mini-card and a 6-cell Lithium Ion battery.

The Studio XPS 1640 will provide, for the same $1199 price tag, a similar configuration, aside from two major differences. It sports a larger 16-inch WLED LCD screen, capable of a 1366 by 768 resolution, powered by an ATI Mobility Radeon M86XT graphics card, with 512MB of memory.

Both systems run on Microsoft's Windows Vista Home Premium Edition SP1 64-bit operating system and are now available for purchase via the company's website.
