Alienware is a brand that doesn't often get stapled to a machine, but when it does, it definitely means that the computer is among the highest-end that Dell has to offer.

This once, the Alienware brand has landed not on a laptop, but on a full-fledged desktop personal computer.

Dell US hasn't yet unleashed the item, possibly because of time zone differences, but Hong Kong and Singapore, among other regions, should have it up for order already.

Customers should just be sure to have at least $2,686.37 to spend on it if they mean to buy it (2,035 Euro or so).

The Alien Aurora is powered by a second-generation Intel Core i7 CPU (central processing unit) with six cores and liquid cooling.

The X79 motherboard has an Unlocked BIOS as well, for overclocking.

Furthermore, since the integrated CPU graphics can't do much in games, Dell threw in a choice between more than a few graphics cards from both NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

It is even possible to get two boards and set them up in dual-GPU configuration.

Meanwhile, 4 to 32 GB of quad-channel RAM back up the CPU-GPU team, with a frequency of 1,600 MHz.

As for storage, up to 2TB are available via hard disk drives (standard capacity is 1TB, which is a lot in and of itself).

Other specifications include either one or two optical drives (up to Blu-ray burner), 7.1 audio with MAXX Audio software (Creative Sound Blaster card optional) and the Alienware Command Center, a software element for power and heat management, as well as customizing the lighting on the case and other visual tweaks.

In fact, there are a total of 25 billion color combinations for the chassis, according to the company.

All in all, playing games, even in 3D and on multi-monitor configurations should be more than a breeze for years to come, and the Alienware Aurora will look its best through all of it.
