14 DAY TRIAL // Sales figures on Microsoft’s very own Windows 8 operating system remain scarce for the time being, but several analysts have already suggested that it’s going to take off in 2013.
HP India President of Printing and Personal Systems, Rajiv Srivastava, shares the same view and says that Windows 8 has the potential to become a successful operating system.
He expects the new Microsoft product to account for 25 to 30 percent of its computer sales in 2013, in which case Dell would be fairly satisfied. Analysts have previously forecasted that Windows 8 is going to play the key role in a significant recovery of the PC industry next year.
“Windows 8 is a relatively new platform... if 25-30 per cent of the sales came from Windows 8, we would be very happy,” he was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
