Custom building anything

A company that has made a name for itself by bringing consumers the option of choosing their most suitable computer configuration and through the extended warranty and quality service is now undertaking some changes by adding to their domain of expertise the "custom built data centers".

This is part of Dell Cloud Computing Solutions, in which they, as I have said, take the next step towards bringing even more to the table than before. Their offer is open to anybody from small to big companies, including an interesting packet in the offer. The Cloud Computing Solution is made out of a number of key features such as capacity planning for data centers, taking into consideration what kind of needs the company which will receive the data center has.

Then there is the design-to-order hardware, in which you choose what type of servers and equipment you need for the data center, or you get a bunch of IT brainiacs from Dell to help you in your choice by eliminating unnecessary hardware, which wouldn't fit the customers, that's you, needs. The design-to-order initiative follows their previous built-to-order model by being the next step forward. The number of really large Web 2.0 companies isn't that big right now, but for a marketing scheme, it sure sounds better to hear "custom built Web 2.0 data centers" than "custom built data centers", it has a certain ring to it, don't you think?

Matt Eastwood, program vice president for IDC's Enterprise Platforms Group stated in the press release that: "The infrastructure requirements of Web 2.0 companies are distinctive and differ in many ways from the needs of traditional enterprise IT customers. Dell recognizes that these customers have unique compute density, power density and manageability needs and the Data Center Solutions Division has been created to offer this growing customer segment access to IT infrastructure solutions tailored for their unique business requirements."
