It appears that Dell has completed an entire new batch of business-oriented systems, over 20 of them to be exact, some of which are desktop computers set to make their appearance in the following weeks.

Even though products for the consumer market come out on a regular basis, makers of computers are in no way ignorant of the business market.

The so-called 'difference' is that they prefer to provide the latter with complete collections of products when making an announcement, unlike how many PCs often get a press release all to themselves.

Part of Dell's new offering is made up of mobile computers, laptops for the most part, though a Windows 7 tablet was also mentioned.

Then, there is the desktop front, which has now welcomed new OptiPlex and Precision series machines.

The Precision T1600 is the one described in the press release and is powered by a second generation Intel Core or Xeon central processing unit.

Whichever chips is chosen is backed up by up to 8 GB of non-ECC memory, or 16 GB of ECC DDR3 RAM.

The Core chips have their own HD graphics, while the others are paired with discrete AMD or NVIDIA professional boards. All of these are placed inside a case with tool-less construction.

The OptiPlex line uses rather compact enclosures but have a higher performance threshold, being powered by up to a Core i7 central processor. AMD graphics, like the Radeon HD 6670, are provided.

The official announcement also mentions the possibility of using HDDs or SSDs for storage purposes.

“As a leader in providing business solutions to organizations around the world, we are proud to announce this new portfolio of products that deliver secure, manageable and reliable solutions along with great new designs,” said Steven Lalla, vice president and general manager of Commercial Client Product Group, Dell.

“As the workforce continues to evolve, so will Dell, with the solutions both end-users and IT organizations need to improve efficiency and productivity regardless of the device they choose.”

For those that want more specifics, the OptiPlex series includes the SFF All-in-One and the 990, 790 and 390 models. They sell fro $650 or more, while the Precision T1600 has a starting price of $840.
