High-speed printing is a must for any type of business that is at least mildly concerned about the speed at which paperwork is done. Contracts, clauses, announcements, brochures, memos, insurance policies and many other documents of all kinds are issued by businesses every day, most often in multiple copies. Bent on increasing the efficiency of office tasks, the high-speed laser printing business has been evolving rapidly. Yesterday, Dell introduced its latest three office laser printers designed for optimum efficiency. These are the Dell 5130cdn, the Dell 7130cdn and the Dell 3330dn.

Each single device is optimized for a specific set of operations. This goes especially for the Dell 3330dn. Completely focused on high-speed, black-and-white printing, it is a single-function performance printer, which, capable of about 40 letter pages per minute, can throw out up to 80,000 pages every month. It comes with customizable paper drawers and an expandable memory and is on sale in the US from $599 with a one-year Advanced Exchange Service. This product can be called the ultimate workhorse of the printing industry so far.

“Dell has always focused on efficiency, reducing costs and increasing productivity for businesses of all sizes, and today we have extended that same winning formula to the printing world,” Mike Arterbury, global director Commercial Software & Peripherals at Dell Inc., said. “Our portfolio of printers provides customers with valuable and affordable choices and low cost of printing, saving them time – and real money.”

The second in this line is the Dell 7130cdn, Dell's first LED-based color printer. This one is capable of printing Pantone-approved color prints and, unlike its two siblings, it is capable of accurate color reproduction while printing tabloid-size. Available in the US at the price of $2,799, it has a high set of features, such as a large memory, a powerful processor and a First Print Out time of 6.5 seconds, whether colored or not. Buyers will benefit from one year of Next Business Day (NBD) Onsite Service after Remote Diagnosis.

The Dell 5130cdn seems to combine the speed of the 3330dn with the high-quality color printing capacity of the 7130cdn. It is the world's fastest single function letter-size office color laser printer. It is capable of producing an astounding 47 single-sided or 37 double-sided pages per minute. This makes it the world's currently fastest office color laser printer on the market. In addition, ColorbyDell, a Dell-developed technology, delivers an outstanding print quality through excellent color saturation and image sharpness.

Dell also revealed a built-in remote administration tool for IT administrators, namely the Dell ColorTrack Pro. It allows for the centralized monitoring and control of the 5130cdn, managing the printing and toner costs at server-level. With this and the new toner formulation that fuses colors at a lower temperature, the 5130cdn can boast a Cost Per Page (CPP) of 1.04c for black-and-white and of 7.71c for color print-outs. It sells for $1,549.

“Dell’s new commercial printers add to a compelling portfolio of business color and mono printers for organizations of all sizes,” Keith Kmetz, vice president of Hardcopy Peripherals Solutions and Services at IDC, added. “The Dell 5130cdn revolutionizes speed and usability. And its user-friendly appeal makes it attractive to organizations looking for high quality color output at a low total cost of ownership.”

“Dell’s complete lineup of laser printers provide customers with outstanding value, world class reliability and ease of use to help them achieve more with less, with minimum downtime and complexity,” C. K. Lim, general manager of Dell’s Global Imaging Business, shared.
