Like its peers, Dell unveiled certain products at some point in the past and is only now getting around to selling them, the Inspiron M501R being an example, as it is a mobile PC based on AMD's platform that was revealed some months ago.

Though most notebooks are still powered by Intel central processing units, Advanced Micro Devices finally got around to revealing mobile products of its own some time ago.

Thus, notebooks and netbooks based on AMD chips finally started to show up or get unveiled by the various PC suppliers.

As one of the three greatest PC suppliers in the world, Dell spared little time in showing off one of these models.

Known as the Inspiron M501R, this laptop was initially made public, more or less, back in May, though its maker kept somewhat silent about it afterwards.

Now, that very same computer has show up as available for order on the company's web store, eager to show just how well AMD mobile technology can do on an Intel-dominated market.

The system is centered around an AMD Phenom II X4 N930 central processing unit with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz.

Said CPU is paired with 4GB of RAM, a hard disk drive of up to 320 GB or 500 GB and is backed up by a Mobility Radeon HD 550 graphics solution.

It is this GPU that has full reign over the 15.6-inch High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife.

Other specifications include an 8x DVD burner and, of course, the obligatory connectivity and I/O options.

The most important of those features are the Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, the 1.3 megapixel webcam and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.

Finally, the machine is pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system and has a starting price of $750 as well as a one-year warranty.
