Dell has announced the availability of the new XPS M1530 notebook, the big brother of XPS M1330. There is a great amount of changes since the release of M1330. Dell lets the customer choose between the new notebook
processor range from 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo T5250 on up to 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo T7800. RAM support has been improved as well, and now the laptop can carry up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, as the majority of laptops does.

On the video side, the user can either opt for a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS or for a GeForce 8600M GT for heavy-duty video usage. If you are worried about the storage options, Dell ensures that you will benefit from all the space you need and lets it up to you whether you will opt for 200GB (7200 RPM), 300GB (5400 RPM) or a modest, but efficient 64 GB solid-state storage drive. New optical technology is a must, and the engineers at Dell did a great job when endowing the M1530 notebook with a slot-loading dual-layer DVD burner or a slot-loading Blu-ray drive - as they seem fit for your tastes and expenses.

Connectivity should be enough, unless you are a real hardcore USB user. XPS M1530 comes with three USB 2.0 ports that can be expanded via an USB root hub, HDMI output, Firewire, 8-in-1 media reader, ExpressCard slot and integrated 2.0 MP camera. If you consider that this is not enough, you can opt for Intel 802.11n wireless card, Dell Wireless 5520 HSDPA, Dell Wireless 5720 EVDO and Bluetooth 2.0.

The display has been limited only to a maximum resolution of 1280x800 (WXGA), with no option to upgrade to LED backlighting as the "younger" XPS m1330 used to sport. The issue was raised by Dell encountering shortage problems with the M1330 displays.
