The newly introduced mobile GPU already hired by gaming laptops

Dell's Alienware line of gaming notebooks makes a point of being both good-looking and powerful, so it would be strange if the laptops didn't immediately enlist the services of NVIDIA's new mobile GPU.

And by NVIDIA's new mobile GPU we naturally mean the GeForce GTX 680M.

Two Alienware systems have, so far, adopted the graphics processor: the M17x and the M18x.

The former even gets 3D Vision support, while the latter can have a dual-GPU SLI configuration.

“The Alienware M17x will be available with the GeForce GTX 680M 2GB DDR5 GPU along with the option for the NVIDIA 3D Vision technology. The Alienware M18x will also be available with the GeForce GTX 680M GPU in single or dual-card SLI configurations before the end of the month,” Dell's David Chen said on the company blog.

Dell should be ready to ship the updated notebook before the end of the month (June 2012). Go here to read everything Dell has to say on the matter, as well as regarding the rest of the Alienware product line.
