That Dell will soon add a new 14-inch member to its Alienware collection of gaming laptops has already been pretty much made clear, but it looks like more information has come up, although it wasn't anything official.
The Alienware collection of laptop from Dell is known not for affordability, but for combining high performance with aesthetic value.
The gaming machines it includes all have the latest and greatest hardware options available, for everything from the CPU, memory and graphics to connectivity and I/O options.
That said, not too long ago, it was
reported that the company was getting ready to formally unleash the M14x, a 14-inch model.
Now, some more information has arisen, courtesy of
zol.com.cn, as the company itself has yet to make the official release.
The notebooks is described as having an Intel Core i7-2820QM quad-core chip at its heart, backed up by 4 GB of RAM and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 555M graphics card.
Said video adapter has 144 CUDA cores and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory, meaning that it should not have any problem with even the most hardcore of games.
Of course, the CPU mentioned above is not the only one available, with options going as low as the Core i3-2310M.
Meanwhile, a hard disk drive with a platter speed of 7,200 RPM (rotations per minute) provides up to 750 GB of storage space.
Of course, for those inclined more towards speed, solid state drives of up to 256 GB are available as well.
All the above, along with the full list of connectivity and I/O options (Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, D-Sub, HDMI, mini DisplayPort, etc.) show their worth on an LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Official pricing and availability information should be provided by Dell sometime this month (April, 2011).
