14 DAY TRIAL // Round Rock, Texas-based Dell appears to be growing fond of the latest AMD products, especially in the graphics department. In recent days, the PC vendor has updated a series of its products, adding some of AMD's latest Radeon graphics cards as upgrade options to some of its computer systems. On that note, it looks like the company has now updated one of its latest portable PCs, the Studio XPS 16, with an option for the ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card, replacing the previous HD3670 (with 512MB of memory) option that was available for the aforementioned laptop.
The Studio XPS 16 laptop has been designed with a 15.6-inch display, featuring an HD-capable screen resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels or a 1080p display, on select models. Aside from that, there's support for up to 8 GB of DDR3 memory, a choice for a 500GB 5400RPM hard drive, a 320GB 7200RPM HDD or a 128GB SSD in the storage department. Standard features include the wireless Bluetooth and WiFi draft-N connectivity, while a Blu-ray drive is optional for users looking to enhance their system's multimedia capabilities.
Besides these hardware specifications, the sleek laptop from Dell has been fitted with the new ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 GPU, featuring 1GB of dedicated graphics memory and the Core 2 Duo T9600 processor, running at 2.8GHz. This should be enough to provide users with a decent multimedia experience and support for some of today's gaming applications.
Already available on the PC vendor's website, the Dell XPS Studio 16 comes with a price tag of £799, which will provide you with a Full-HD 1080p display, a Core 2 Duo P7350 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, the Mobility Radeon HD 4670 GPU and a 320GB hard drive. In addition, the system is also eligible for Dell's Windows 7 Upgrade program, which will allow you to upgrade to said operating system when it becomes available, in October.
