While most of you are likely waiting to see what Dell’s Adamo XPS laptop will pack under the hood, the Round Rock, Texas-based PC vendor went and updated its Adamo Desire model, which is the first Adamo laptop to be launched by the company. According to available configuration options, the Adamo Desire will now provide its users with a bit more performance, thanks to the adoption of a better processor and a faster storage solution.

As you probably know, the Adamo Desire laptop was launched early this year, setting Dell into a head-to-head competition with Cupertino, California-based Apple and its famous MacBook Air. The laptop was designed to take advantage of Intel’s latest CULV platform for ultra-thin portable computer systems, boasting a 1.4GHz processor and coupled with a 128GB SSD, all for a price tag of US$2,299. However, in anticipation of its upcoming Adamo model, the PC vendor decided it was time to put some speed into its precious Adamo laptop, which is why Adamo Desire can now be configured with a new processor and speedier storage.

According to the product page of Dell’s Adamo lineup, the Adamo Desire is currently available in both Pearl and Onyx color options. In addition, users will be able to take advantage of the performance delivered by the Intel Core 2 Duo SL9600 processor, clocked at 2.1GHz and coupled with 4GB of dual-channel DDR3 memory and a 256GB solid state drive. These extras should provide the Adamo Desire with a considerable boost in performance, while Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system (64-bit) should provide the ultimate choice for this laptop’s OS.

You are probably wondering how all these changes have affected the price tag of Adamo Desire, especially considering that the Adamo XPS is expected to launch for a starting price tag of US$2,000. The good news is that the price hasn’t changed, which means you’ll be able to buy the updated Adamo Desire for the same US$2,299.
