Dell has reached an agreement to acquire Credant Technologies, a company that provides protection solutions for data that’s being transmitted from endpoints to servers, storage and the cloud. Dell is confident that this acquisition will enhance the company’s enterprise computing portfolio.

The simple yet comprehensive and transparent solutions currently provided by Credant on over 2 million endpoints should strengthen Dell’s products and improve their reliability, security and manageability.

“Protecting critical information has only become more important as organizations globally struggle to protect their data in an ever more complex world,” explained Bob Heard, CEO and founder of Credant.

“This combination allows Credant to bring its deep capabilities in data security to Dell’s robust solution set and customer base. Together we will continue to focus on innovation and building value that results in beneficial outcomes for our customers.”

Jeff Clarke, president of End User Computing Solutions at Dell, believes that the solutions provided by Credant could be used to complement and extend the security features of Dell Latitude, OptiPlex and Precision PCs and make them the world’s most secure.
