Microsoft is compensating users for the delays in shipping

Nokia Lumia 1020, the latest high-end Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia and the first of them to pack a 41-megapixel photo snapper, is arriving late to some of those who ordered it a few weeks ago, but there’s a treat in the package, it seems.

Users who ordered the device from the Microsoft Store but did not receive it in due time are being offered a $150 gift card (to spend in the Store) via email, so as to compensate for the delay, WMPoweruser reports.

One customer who found himself in such a position received an email from Microsoft in this regard, and also learned that the Lumia 1020 handset that had been ordered on July 18 would be shipped on August 1, although he had received no info on its arrival before.

No specific details on how many people have seen their device order being delayed have emerged so far, but it’s good to know that Microsoft is looking into the matter.
