14 DAY TRIAL // Trion Worlds has confirmed that its team is hard at work on the Defiance MMO in order to get new updates released for the game as well as to improve the stability of its servers across the game's three platforms, the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Defiance, the eagerly awaited MMO from Trion Worlds that ties into the Defiance TV series on SyFy, finally went live last week on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms around the world.
Even if Trion Worlds had experience with online games, after releasing successful projects like Rift, the new title encountered problems due to its simultaneous release across the three platforms.
The studio is working hard to solve all the issues and eliminate any lag, but this means a lot of interrupted sessions due to work on the actual servers, according to a post on the Defiance community blog.
The team is focusing on quite a few things right now, including:
- Game Server Crashes – Get disconnected or timing out? That’s most likely a game server crashing. It disconnects you and usually you can come straight back in. You might also encounter those zombie servers, which just give you that the service is unavailable. You will be feeling this more in instances and PVP matches. - Disappearing items & Salvage Matrix – Have you had your items disappear mysteriously? Were you in the Salvage Matrix at the time? There is a connection. If you are in the Salvage Matrix and on your way to a match or instance, you have a higher chance of this happening. There are other cases but this is the most common case. You can of course contact customer support about this. - Chat & VOIP – Yes, this isn’t going off the list. We know. We hear it. We see it.
What's more, several updates are in the works for the online game and, in order to complete them in a timely manner, the downloadable content planned for the game has been pushed back.
The first patch should appear within a week and, two weeks after that, another update is going to arrive with other improvements and fixes.
