Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation solutions provider Defense.Net has launched a new solution that’s designed to protect organizations against DDoS attacks. The service, called DDoS Frontline, is said to have bandwidth and mitigation capacity that’s ten times better than legacy services.

“DDoS attacks have grown significantly in the past 18 months, taking down even some of the largest and most heavily defended websites,” said Chris Risley, CEO of Defense.Net.

“DDoS Frontline offers an entirely new set of network technologies specifically designed to protect large enterprises and critical infrastructure from today’s DDoS attacks and the growing number of actors carrying out these attacks.”

DDoS Frontline can protect organizations not only against Layer 7 attacks, but also large-scale attacks, which have become increasingly frequent.

Compared to legacy mitigation services, the new solution from Defense.Net is much faster in thwarting attacks because it relies on automated processes, not humans. Furthermore, DDoS Frontline protects all Internet services, including NTP, FTP, SMTP, POP-3, MIME and DNS.

Another advantage is that the service doesn’t have any unwanted side effects, such as false positives, fraud alerts, slow loading speeds, broken links or blocked users.

Finally, the new mitigation solution offers high levels of visibility, not only during an attack, but also after the cyberattack has ended.

“The DDoS threat is constantly morphing and requires that businesses have the most current defenses in place,” noted Defense.Net Founder and CTO Barrett Lyon.

“In addition to the best technologies, network and team, Defense.Net is providing enterprises with the highest levels of transparency and customer service. We understand the concerns of the companies we’re protecting and understand that ‘false positives’ are more than an acceptable side effect of mitigation – they’re your customers.”

It’s worth noting that the new product launched by Defense.Net directly competes with the DDOS mitigation services offered by Prolexic, the company founded by Barrett Lyon 10 years ago.
