Def Jam Vendetta is a videogame developed by Aki USA Inc. and published by Electronic Arts. It was created for the PlayStation 2 gaming console from Sony and for the GameCube, and launched in April 2003. The game is classed as an action title played from a third person perspective, and features a lot of wrestling matches.
Def Jam Vendetta, which is part of the Def Jam franchise, made a name in the gaming industry because it managed to mix wrestling mechanics with interesting characters. The title was not set to be a simulation of wrestling matches, focusing on the arcade element, outrageous moves, and appealing graphical elements.
The fighters featured in the game are very interesting, with all the artists who worked for the Def Jam Recordings label making an appearance. While playing, you can fight with: DMX, Ludacris, Method Man, N.O.R.E., Redman, Scarface, WC, Ghostface Killah and others. There are some 40 playable characters in the game, and they can perform around 1,500 moves. The main idea is to acquire the money and the power needed to get respect in the underground wrestling business. The game has a cinematic story mode and an arcade fighting mode.
Def Jam Vendetta got pretty favorable reviews from the gaming press but until now the franchise has received no new entries.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Defeating D Mob
The easiest way to defeat him is by submission. Throw him against the ropes and walk slowly to him. As he bounces back, get him in a head hold. It takes about eight attempts of these to make D Mob submit. After his head health meter is empty, you must repeat the tactic two more times.
Keep doing grapple attacks until your momentum meter is up to Blazin mode. Then, go in the ring and when he is on the ground, go to the ropes and jump at him. You will eventually have him kept in danger on health and can do one final Blazin mode attack to defeat him.
