The animal was not bleeding, did not seem to be frightened

I am completely against hunting, but I will say this: those who enjoy this sport would better make sure that, when they go for the kill, they hit their target and hit it right.

The deer pictured above was recently spotted by a Susan Darrah wandering around her garden in Boonton, New Jersey.

Odds are someone tried to kill it, but failed miserably. The arrow did make it through the animal's head, but did not kill it. It did however got stuck in the deer's muzzle.

Susan says that, at the time when she last saw the deer, the animal was not bleeding and did not seem to be frightened.

“Tried to capture him to no avail... he can eat, run and there's no blood, less chance of infection. I just feel so bad for him,” she wrote on her Facebook page, as cited by Thai Panda.

For the time being, animal control officers have not managed to capture the deer and remove the arrow from its head. Susan explains that, since the deer visits her garden on a regular basis, it is likely that animal control officers will eventually manage to rescue it.
