Bytebin has released Deepworld 1.7.3 for free on the Mac App Store in an attempt to gain more popularity with its massively multiplayer 2D crafting adventure game where you mine and craft your way through a constantly changing online universe.

You can regard Deepworld as a 2D version of Minecraft with a few extra features (but also lacking others).

Players must mine their way through mountains, caves, and ruins, and overcome obstacles while grabbing loot to spend on different items.

It’s also got a steampunk feel to it (reminiscent of the popular Machinarium puzzler), as you must recover lost pieces of technology to build machines that restore the environment.

In version 1.7.3, Bytebin has added growable flowers and flower pots, powerful mechanical exoskeleton addons, portable single-use teleporters, and new sandstone and limestone regions.
