It has an output high enough for most gaming configurations, save the really hardcore ones

DeepCool sounds like a company that specializes in coolers, and it definitely has a bunch of those on sale at any given time, but it also makes power supplies, like the Quanta DQ-750W that just came out.

As the name implies, the Quanta DQ-750W features a power output of 750W, which is pretty high considering that a good and efficient 400W PSU is enough even for mildly powerful gaming PCs.

And since this one bears a 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating, we can safely say that it is more than just mildly efficient.

True to form, DeepCool made sure to give the newcomer as many cables and protections as possible.

After all, if 80 Plus Gold certification is going to qualify it as high-end, the company might as well go all the way and turn everything up to eleven.

So there is a single +12V rail rated at 62A, as well as four 6+2 PCI Express power connectors, eight SATA power inputs, three Molex connectors and one Berg port.

In other words, the DeepCool Quanta DQ-750W has all the necessary cables and a few more besides, making it possible to create computers with a lot of storage space and dual-GPU AMD CrossFireX or NVIDIA SLI video configurations.

That said, the PSU also boasts an active PFC (power factor correction), plus a 130 mm fan whose speed depends on the temperature of the PSU's insides.

Furthermore, all the cables are flat, ribbon-type, and all of them can be removed (this is a modular PSU after all), except for the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors.

Since all motherboards need those to run, there is no need for them to be detachable, and really it's not exactly recommended either.

Sadly, DeepCool did not reveal what the price of the Quanta DQ-750W was, or when sales would begin.
