The User Account Control is a new security feature introduced in Windows Vista that has stirred up a decent amount of controversy. Microsoft's perspective on UAC, illustrated on several occasions, revealed that the technology is designed to standardize the practices associated with the standard user. The bottom line is that, with UAC, Microsoft has placed control over what executes on the operating system.

In a new video made available over at Channel9 you will be able to get an insight into the Windows Vista User Account Control. Jon Schwartz, UAC Architect, and Chris Corio, UAC Technical Program Manager, will deliver details related to the technology. The discussion that revolves around UAC will touch several sensitive points from the history of the technology to the new architecture and design. Schwartz and Corio also talk about the Vista UAC security model, as well as about the behavior of the UAC security dialog, and the manner in which this technology impacts third-party developers that build programs for Windows Vista. Just be sure to have a decent amount of time available because the video is over 1 hour long.

The interview will provide answers to a few questions that include the issues that Microsoft attempted to solve with the implementation of the UAC, the actual functionality of the technology, and the reason why the Redmond Company has decided to make UAC so aggressive.

Additionally, you will also be able to see where the User Account Control in Windows is heading. This because a part of the interview also focuses on the evolution of the UAC.
