The upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive dungeon crawler Deep Down, that, just like all the other third-person hack-and-slash games that will ever be made, is being constantly compared to Dark Souls, was supposed to begin its beta testing phase this June.

Developer and publisher Capcom has been pretty quiet in regards to the beta it promised a while ago, and as such Deep Down producer Kazunori Sugiura has taken to Twitter to post a series of messages for the game's fans.

"Producer Sugiura here. Details on the public beta test are likely to come in July. There's no excuse, as everyone was looking forward to the information. Rather than development circumstances, we're discussing with the higher ups the policies for the beta test," he shares.

"As an apology, I'm attaching a screenshot of the game in development. It's a dungeon themed after the emotion of 'Anger.' I will report again in July," he continues, providing fans with an image picturing an adventurer preparing to enter the dungeon.

The screenshot shows a new armor model, one that's never been seen before now, with a stylish gothic outlook. However, the dungeon is one that's been previously seen in a slightly different incarnation, in an image released at Tokyo Game Show 2013.

Deep Down has only been announced for the Japanese market so far and will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive title.
