14 DAY TRIAL // Blackmagic Design is proud to announce that Digidesign (of Avid Technology Inc) has certified its DeckLink HD Extreme card for use with Pro Tools HD 8 and Pro Tools LE 8 on Apple's Mac OS X Leopard. According to the company, this was one of the most burning feature requests from their customers.
DeckLink HD Extreme is the world's first capture card to feature SDI, HDMI and analog component, NTSC, PAL and S-Video capture and playback, combined with 3 Gb/s SDI technology, and 3D lookup tables. The hardware sells for US$995 (€675), and can instantly switch to full resolution 2K feature film editing, with built-in 3D lookup tables that allow customers to simulate feature film stocks also being included. With Blackmagic Design’s DeckLink HD Extreme, Pro Tools users can now monitor most common QuickTime HD and SD video formats directly from their Pro Tools video track, exporting them to professional video monitoring equipment (broadcast monitors, large screen LCDs or plasmas).
