The Debian project announced the immediate availability for download of the third maintenance release of the Debian 7 Linux operating system.

Debian 7.3 is just a maintenance update, but that doesn’t mean that users shouldn’t update as soon as possible. The new version packs quite a few changes and improvements.

“Please note that this update does not constitute a new version of Debian 7 but only updates some of the packages included. There is no need to throw away older wheezy CDs or DVDs but only to update via an up-to-date Debian mirror after an installation, to cause any out of date packages to be updated,” reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, the handling of :any in single-arch systems and processing of .debs over 2GB in size has been fixed, various memory leaks have been corrected, a number of upstream updates have been integrated, and more.

Check out the complete changelog in the official announcement. You can also download Debian 7.1 from Softpedia and update afterwards.
