Players that want to experience a new “single-player party-based fantasy role-playing game” can do so now, as Deathfire: Ruins of Nethermore is up on Kickstarter. The goal is to get $390,000 / € 288,000 until December 7.

The project promises to provide the same entertaining experience of classical computer role-playing games like “Wizardry,” “Might & Magic” series, but with a modern twist.

The game is built upon “a solid role-playing engine that utilizes over forty visible character attributes, along with countless invisible ones to track behavior. They make up the heartbeat of the game, and allow us to analyze and adjust gameplay on the fly, and react to the player’s actions, shaping the story around these actions and decisions.”

Furthermore, the developers have put a lot of emphasis on character interaction, players being able to recruit the numerous denizens they will encounter in the game.

You will be able to make them follow you as non-player characters. The purpose is to have them enrich the game and create unique gameplay twists.

Moreover, one will get to battle tons of monsters and choose from a number of 6 classes and 8 races. Also, players will be given the opportunity to combine items to build weapons and traps, experience complex puzzles and evolving quests, and have over 34 unique character traits, plus base attributes.

In addition to all of this, the tittle provides “rich game setting with party-based gameplay and turn-based combat that allows for tactically infused battles.”

The game is spearheaded by award-winning veteran Game Designer, Programmer and Producer Guido Henkel. He was one of the creators of the original “Realms of Arkania,” and the producer of “Planescape: Torment.”

If the developing team manages to exceed its initial goal, they have a number of stretch goals that include adding the player option for tactical Third-Person Combat, adding a town, an Overhead Map, plus include a fully editable Journal and Quest Logger.

These are only a few of their stretch goals, but more details can be found on Deathfire: Ruins of Nethermore Kickstarter page.
