A new trailer for Tori Spelling’s Lifetime docuseries, True Tori, finally provides an answer for the question her fans have been asking since December, when the cheating scandal broke in the press: why would Dean McDermott cheat on her, when he professed he loved her more than anything in life?

Why would he risk everything he held most dearly in life – his family – for a 2-night affair with a woman from Canada and who knows how many others that the public has never found out about?

A very candid and apparently shaken Dean is shown in the trailer speaking to a friend about this. You will find the new teaser embedded in the video below.

“I didn't think that I would get caught. I was drinking and using drugs. I was not dealing with things that happened to me in the past. […] I have a brain that wants to kill me. I have a brain that wants me dead,” he says, almost on the verge of tears, opening up about his addictions.

The scandal started in December last year, when a tabloid ran the story of a woman who claimed to have slept with Dean while he was on a business trip to Canada. Neither Dean nor Tori addressed her claims at the time.

In fact, they did no such thing until just recently, when Lifetime announced they would be airing a docuseries on the topic, showing Tori and Dean trying to save their marriage by deciding if there was anything left saving after he was caught cheating on her.
