14 DAY TRIAL // Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott aired all their dirty laundry on the Lifetime docuseries True Tori, which showed them trying to pick up the pieces and save their marriage after he was caught – and publicly shamed for – cheating on her. Apparently, they’re not out of the woods just yet.
Though many still doubt there was any truth to the cheating “scandal” in which McDermott got himself involved, the two did their best to convince the world of the severity of the problems they were facing, with each new episode in the docuseries and the subsequent TV specials.
In the end, they admitted they had committed to making the marriage work, and Tori said she would try to put Dean’s betrayal behind her.
Reconciliation was dependent on certain conditions
However, there were some strings attached. Besides having to promise to stay on his best behavior, Dean said he would attend regular AA meetings, to try and keep his drinking addiction under control. Viewers of the docuseries know that he blamed drinking (and drugs) for his 2-night stand with a woman from Canada.
Because he nearly broke up the family when he cheated on Tori, Dean had to cry many crocodile tears (and we got to see each and every one go down his cheek on the show) until she believed him when he said she could trust him again.
Naturally, one false step on his part could mean that he’s not getting another chance. From what we got from the series, if he as much as think of not sticking to his promises, Tori will divorce him and take his kids away.
Dean has been skipping AA meetings, is down a dangerous path
Even with this threat, Dean has not learned his lesson yet, InTouch Weekly has found out from an unnamed but admittedly reliable source. He’s been missing AA meetings and is already telling friends that he’s totally “bored” and “unhappy” with his life, and Tori implicitly.
“He’s at a crossroads with his family and his sobriety,” says the spy. “He’s miserable and he’s not hiding it.”
The report suggests that Dean is about to have another meltdown like the one that made him cheat, even if he knows too well that this could cost him his family. Then too he became depressed and started drinking and occasionally doing drugs, which, in turn, made him act “stupid” and sleep with a random woman he’d picked up at a bar.
Or maybe they’re just looking for attention again
If true, this would be a sad situation for everyone involved: Dean, Tori, and their 4 children together. However, we should not forget this: the woman who claimed to have slept with Dean last year, aka the one who exposed him as a lying cheat, doesn’t exist. Several celebrity bloggers and even editors for glossies tried to track her down for more details on the scandalous affair, but they could not find her.
She also seems to have gone completely off radar after her one interview on the topic, and has no identity online – which, you will admit, is a very rare thing these days.
In other words, it could be that Tori herself is leaking these stories, to ensure she gets another season for the docuseries, which, at this point, is the family’s only revenue. She is believed to have masterminded the initial scandal as well, according to various theories online.
