14 DAY TRIAL // Discovery is getting ready for the premiere of season 9 of Deadliest Catch but, as the brand new teaser – which you can see in full above – shows, one of the regulars might be out of the picture for good.
That is Elliott Neese, who is “notably absent” in the trailer which shows all the other captains and crews getting ready to set out.
He is the youngest captain on the show and, last season, he struggled at his work.
Scott Campbell of the Seabrooke isn’t really that surprised. “Elliot should be here. He should be ready to go,” he says.
However, it’s Sig Hansen, captain of the Northwestern, who hints that Neese might not be coming back at all.
“In all honesty, I’m kinda not surprised Elliott isn’t here this year… No owner is going to let a guy run a boat and not produce. You’re going to lose your job,” he explains.
