14 DAY TRIAL // Team Ninja has released another trailer featuring in-game footage of the next addition to their 2013 fighting game Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, a mysterious character named Phase-4.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is itself an expanded edition of 2012's Dead or Alive 5, and it is getting a new character in the form of Phase-4, another clone of Kasumi, created by Donovan's MIST organization in its Project Alpha initiative. With the full name of "Kasumi Alpha Phase-4," the new character is a mysterious hooded lady who also happens to be a human weapon.
The trailer shows the new character in action, displaying her potent juggling combos, some of her counters and her overall over-the-top fighting style, including kicking opponents into helicopters in a nod to '80s action blockbusters.
Phase-4's fighting style is based on Kasumi's Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu, with some modification made in order to consecrate her status as a human weapon, such as the wondrous black mist surrounding her, the details of which remain a secret for now.
If the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Dead or Alive Ultimate will soon be getting the vampire fanfic-inspired Marie Rose, the arcade version of the game will also be getting Phase-4 sometime this spring.
