Dead or Alive 5 Plus, the upcoming PlayStation Vita version of the fighting game from Team Ninja and Tecmo Koei, will support Cross-play, meaning owners of the regular game on the PS3 can participate in fights against Vita owners, as well as share DLC between the two consoles.

Dead or Alive 5 came out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms last year and impressed longtime fans of the series by introducing quite a few new features while keeping the emphasis on its beautiful female fighters, just like fans wanted.

Now, Tecmo Koei is getting ready to debut a special edition of the game, in the form of Dead or Alive 5 Plus, exclusively for the PS Vita.

According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, via CVG, this version of the game supports Cross-play, meaning owners of the game on the Vita can play in online matches against PS3 owners of the regular game.

They'll also be able to share DLC between the two platforms and even transfer their save game files, so a PS3 owner can pick up from where he/she left off in the story mode no matter the console.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus is scheduled to appear in March for the PS Vita.
