Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja have just posted the opening cinematic for their upcoming Dead or Alive 5 fighting game, showing off the array of eclectic characters that will join the latest edition of the Dead or Alive tournament in the upcoming game.

The Dead or Alive series usually entails an array of various fighters from all over the world going up one against the other in all sorts of environments with the goal to win the prestigious tournament usually organized by the DOATEC Corporation with some nefarious goal.

The latest installment, Dead or Alive 5, doesn’t stray far from this recipe, and has just seen its opening cinematic appear on the web in the form of a short video.

As you can see above, all the fighters are quite eager to once again get back in the ring, including old favorites, like Ryu Hayabusa, Hitomi, or Kasumi, as well as new characters, like Rig.

While the newly reformed corporation sounds decent enough, expect some sort of ulterior motive and a betrayal during the story campaign.

Dead or Alive 5 is out on September 25, in North America, and September 28, in Europe and the rest of the world.
