The fighting game developed by Team Ninja, Dead or Alive 4, was published by Tecmo on the 29th of December 2005
in North America and Japan, the 24th of January 2006 in Europe and the 13th of April 2006 in Australia. A funny fact regarding the game's release was its "mighty magnificent stimulating graceful fighting" description on XBLA.
The fourth installment of Dead or Alive focuses on the story of Helena, the young woman taking over the mantle of DOATEC as second chairman. Since its release, Dead or Alive 4 has been given rave reviews by numerous gaming magazines and websites. Some say it's the greatest in the series thanks to a revamped fighting system, gorgeous graphics and great online play.
We know that true gamers play all these games just for fun, as they should and not in order to achieve specific point landmarks to prove their friends they are very cool, but we also know that sometimes you just can't live without achieving everything possible with a title you really enjoy.
Unlockables
Biolab Core stage Successfully complete Story mode to unlock the Biolab Core stage.
Nassau Station stage Successfully complete Story mode with Helena to unlock a stage similar to the first stage of Halo 2, the Hangar Area.
Tatami Mat stage Unlock all costumes and system voices and successfully complete Story mode with all seventeen characters to unlock the Tatami Mat stage, which has a floor mat with no walls.
Play as Ein Successfully complete Story mode with Hitomi to unlock Ein in all modes except for Story mode.
Play as Gen Fu Successfully complete Story mode with Eliot to unlock Gen Fu in all modes except for Story mode.
Play as Helena Successfully complete Story mode with all sixteen characters to unlock Helena in all modes.
Play as Leon Successfully complete Story mode with Zack to unlock Leon in all modes except for Story mode.
Play as Spartan-458 Successfully complete Story mode with Helena to unlock Spartan-458 from Halo in all modes except for Story mode.
Play as Tengu Successfully complete Time Attack mode with all default and hidden characters to unlock Tengu.
Fight Tengu in Time Attack mode Defeat the first six characters with a time of 2:30 or less in Time Attack mode, and also score one "Greatest" (taking no damage against any one character in both rounds) as well to fight Tengu at the Ninja Hideout, but outside the tower in the pit. The "Jintsuriki" can be heard playing in the background.
Theater mode Successfully complete Story mode with any character to unlock Theater mode and their movie. More movies can be unlocked by completing Story mode with different characters.
Commercial video Successfully complete Story mode with all characters to unlock the U.S. television commercial for the game in Theater mode.
Increased bounciness Enter "99" as your age in your profile to make the female characters' breasts bounce more than usual.
Bonus system announcer voices In the options menu, you can choose different voices for the system announcer. To unlock additional voices, enter Sparring mode and bring up the sparring menu. Select "Exercise" and you will be prompted to run through an extensive moves list. Successfully complete the moves list to unlock that character's voice as a system announcer. Successfully complete Exercise mode with all default and bonus characters to unlock Alpha-152's system voice.
