Developer DoubleBear has announced that a demo for their zombie-survival RPG Dead State will become available in the near future.

Dead State will be a turn-based role-playing game, where players are survivors of a zombie apocalypse that have to struggle with the everyday perils of survival. It will feature complex iterations and skill trees, crafting and recruiting and many other interesting mechanics.

DoubleBear's creation had a very successful Kickstarter campaign during July 2012, raising more than double its initial funding target. The game was subsequently Greenlit on Steam, in April 2013, and now it seems that the first playable iteration will soon reach its backers.

A Kickstarter update mentions that the playable demo is likely to show up by the end of the month, and will be available through Steam Early Access.

“The demo is a work in progress look at the game as we start to enter the final stretch of development. It should both give players an idea at how the shelter/combat sections will play out, and allow our early access players to give us feedback which will be used to improve the final game,” the developers informed.
