Visceral Games has just released the first batch of details about its upcoming Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC, confirming that the add-on will bring a new campaign to the shooter that emphasizes in a bigger degree survival and horror.

Dead Space 3 came out last month and, while it delivered a pretty decent survival third-person shooter experience, it didn't impress many of its longtime fans largely because its horror aspects were toned down.

Now, with the upcoming Dead Space 3: Awakened add-on, developer Visceral Games wants to deliver a new story experience that focuses more on horror.

The DLC has just received a concrete release date, as it's going to hit Dead Space 3 across the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms next week, on March 12.

In order to get people interested in the add-on, a video and a bunch of screenshots have appeared, via AGB.

Check them out above and below and look forward to hearing more about Dead Space 3: Awakened soon.
