Dead Space 2, Electronic Arts' newest survival horror shooter, is set to receive new multiplayer maps, in the form of the Outbreak pack, which will be completely free.
EA pleased quite a lot of horror fans at the beginning of the year when it released Dead Space 2, managing to continue the story in the original title and take it to new levels.
The biggest addition, however, was the multiplayer mode, which saw teams of space marines duke it out with the alien necromorphs in some intense matches.
The game already saw the release of single-player downloadable content, in the form of the
Severed DLC, and will also be getting an add-on for its multiplayer mode.
According to an announcement made on the Dead Space Facebook page, the developer, Visceral Games, is going to debut a new map pack for the latest title, in the form of the Outbreak one.
The greatest thing about the pack's two new maps, however, is that they'll be completely free for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners, via the PlayStation Network y Xbox Live, respectively.
"Who’s up for some free new maps for Dead Space 2 Multiplayer? The team has been working hard to bring you new and exciting maps, and they’re proud to bring you their latest and greatest for FREE. Return to The Sprawl in the two new multiplayer maps; The Academy and The Concourse. This new Outbreak Map Pack will be available May 31st on XBOX Live and June 3rd on PSN," Visceral Games revealed on the Dead Space Facebook page.
The first map is The Academy, and will see players take on the Necromorphs throughout a big educational facility, sprinkled with various child-themed items and writings on the walls.
The second one is The Concourse, another large map that features open spaces and specific lighting effects in order to increase the horror effect.
