The shark was not alive when passengers spotted it

Travelers on the subway in New York on August 6 have recovered a dead shark on the train. Nobody knows how it got there, however.

Some passengers speculated that it was killed and brought there, but others suggested that it was simply a farce designed to give passers-by a scare. The provenience of the fish is not known at this point.

As you can see in the photo posted above, it was left under a bench on the train. The New York Post relays a statement by Brandon Sanchez of Williamsburg, who described that the smell of the carcass could be felt all throughout the train car.

He believes that the mysterious appearance of the shark is relayed to Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.   “We were pretty much in disbelief, and kept laughing. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen on the subway in New York!” he recalls.
