Dead Rising 2: Off the Record Has Open Sandbox Mode

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record arrives this October

The upcoming Dead Rising 2: Off the Record video game, arriving from Capcom Vancouver and published by the Japanese company itself, will feature an open Sandbox Mode, without any sort of time limit, which means players can just fight against the legions of zombies without any other worry.

Dead Rising games have impressed through the variety of hilarious ways the player can dispose of the undead horde, combining all sorts of objects and creating tools with which to send the zombies back to where they came from.

Sadly, players were always constrained by a time limit within the game, as they needed to complete the story before time ran out if they wanted to actually get a good ending.

Now, with Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, a full-pledged expansion of the Dead Rising 2 experience from last year, fans will finally be able to get rid of the time limit, thanks to an all-new Sandbox Mode.

"Fans have asked for it and now Dead Rising 2 Off the Record delivers a fully realized Sandbox Mode! Available from the outset and supporting both single and co-op modes, players can now explore all Fortune City has to offer without having to worry about the clock. In addition, Sandbox Mode offers a selection of gruesome and unique challenges such as ‘Rumble in the Jungle’, ‘Chop Suey’ and ‘Silver Strip Smackdown,’ all with online leaderboard support," Capcom revealed in a statement.

Off the Record sees the return of Dead Rising 1 protagonist Frank West, photojournalist and zombie killer extraordinaire, who must now explore a new region of Fortune City, called Uranus, filled with carnival rides, crazy attractions and, of course, legions of undead zombies.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be released on October 14, this year, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
