Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, the new third-person zombie killing game from Capcom, will be released onto the market on October 11, in the USA, and October 14, in Europe.

Dead Rising 2 was a smash hit for Capcom, so the company is keen on expanding its profit and has already released the very successful downloadable Dead Rising 2: Case Zero and Dead Rising 2: Case West, which acted as prologue and epilogue, respectively, for the story in the actual game.

Now, the Japanese company is working hard on bringing a larger spinoff to the market, in the form of the Dead Rising 2: Off the Record game.

The title will see the full on return of Dead Rising 1 protagonist Frank West, as the famous war photographer now needs to survive the undead horde in a special district of Fortune City, the location of all the Dead Rising 2 experiences.

"The new “Off the Record” storyline means an all new Dead Rising 2 experience," Capcom said.

"Frank will face off against more twisted enemies, build more outrageous combo weapons, follow his own unique mission structure and explore brand new areas of Fortune City to get his biggest scoop yet. Join Frank as he indulges in the insanity of “Uranus Zone,” Fortune City’s very own theme park. Full of deadly rides and crazy attractions, the sci-fi themed Uranus Zone is a true zombie-killing paradise."

The game has now received a concrete release date from the Japanese company, which confirmed that fans of the franchise will be able to once again delve in the zombie killing shoes of Frank West on Octber 11, in North America, and October 14, in Europe and the UK.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and is scheduled to cost $39.99.
