Deep Silver and Techland have confirmed that they're hard at work on improving Dead Island: Riptide by solving the different "Unable to Connect" error messages that are displayed within the cooperative mode.

Dead Island was a surprise hit and millions of gamers loved it despite its different issues that have been eventually fixed through lots of updates.

With Dead Island: Riptide, both Techland and Deep Silver promised a much more stable experience.

Sadly, this isn't happening, as fans are already complaining of various bugs and the dreaded "Unable to Connect" error message that's displayed when trying to set up a cooperative game.

According to a statement from a Deep Silver representative on the Steam forums, the companies are focusing on eliminating the co-op issues and on fixing the various other errors relating to the audio, especially those that appear when players use a 7.1 USB headset.

As of yet, there's no word on when an update will be released.
