David and Victoria Beckham purchased a 7-bedroom mansion in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, dubbed the Beckinham Palace, in 1999 – but they’re now having it appraised in the hope of selling it.

The celebrity couple is looking at unloading the property in the hope of looking for a brand new home in what has been, until now, their home away from home, Los Angeles.

Admittedly, as per reports cited by the British publication the Daily Mail, the two are set on moving to the US for good, which is why they no longer deem it necessary to keep the fancy Palace.

To see this happen, they’ve already had a real estate agent have a look at the 24 acre property, sources say.

“They bought the property in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire for £2.5 million in 1999 and it is now estimated to be worth as much as £18 million,” the Mail writes.

Moreover, while the two have already made up their mind about the move to the US and are already taking the necessary steps to see it happen, the property is yet to be listed as for sale.

“The couple have spent more than £18million renovating it over the years – and the estate boasts an indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a petting zoo, recording studio, a snooker room, a gym, and state-of-the-art floodlit tennis courts,” the Mail says.

“The garden has three £10,000 gazebos, each with a different theme – lakeside, romantic and ornamental. They have also installed a 52ft garden pavilion with a marble floor, which houses a 4ft barbecue that cost £70,000,” the publication further writes.

Though they’re quite fond of the Beckingham Palace, the two stars have decided to move to the US for the sake of their three sons, who have reportedly adapted quite wonderfully to the life here.

Another reason for the decision is the fact that they too, just like the rest of the world, are feeling the effects of the economic recession and are looking to cut down unnecessary expenses.

Yearly, The Beckhams spend many thousands of pounds on maintenance for their homes around the world.

“The Beckhams already own a £11 million house in Beverly Hills, as well as a £2 million château in France and a luxury apartment in Dubai, and decided running a UK mansion was a needless expense,” the Mail says.
