Fans of the recently launched reboot of the PlayStation 3 exclusive Twisted Metal should get some good news during the week as the developers behind the game promise to launch a patch for the game, fixing a number of issues, including the various network linked problems.

Speaking to fans of the game on Twitter, David Jaffe, who is still the leader of developer Eat Sleep Play, states that the team “is doing some work for a patch we hope to push Tuesday that should help out and fix network issues but no guarantee.”

He adds, “Nothing concrete sadly. Lots of work happening but only real news is: team is cranking hard on it and making progress but I can’t give you a ‘this is when it will be 100% fixed’ date just yet.”

Those playing Twisted Metal have reported that the game has a tendency to disconnect those engaged in multiplayer in the middle of matches, while others have talked about problems with both the matchmaking system and the invites for matches.

There are also reports from those playing on launch PlayStation 3, saying that the game has a tendency to crash, which can be eliminated by deleting the game demo, although publisher Sony says that it has been unable to reproduce this particular problem.

For the upcoming patch, the developers at Eat Sleep Play are also trying to change how experience points are doled out by Twisted Metal, a problem with the contrast on some custom skins and the slowdown that they have introduced because of the higher-than-expected interest from the player base.

In his direct style Jaffe urges the player base to hang on to their copies of Twisted Metal, promising that all issues will be solved as quickly as possible and that the experience will be worth the wait.

He also says that the rebooted Twisted Metal is the best game that has created, when viewed from the design standpoint.
