14 DAY TRIAL // Former “Baywatch” star and current America’s Got Talent judge David Hasselhoff was rushed to the emergency room Sunday night after his 17-year-old daughter called 911. Reports initially had it the actor had been binging on vodka for several hours when the paramedics were summoned, but his camp is now telling TMZ the visit had nothing to do with his old alcohol problem, but rather with an ear infection that affected his balance.
The Hoff’s camp is denying reports the star had a relapse, which again might have sent him to the ER heavily intoxicated, like it happened earlier this year. The 911 call was indeed made by The Hoff’s daughter, who was with him at his house in Encino, CA, they say, but it wasn’t because he was drinking and he was acting erratically again. The actor seems to have been suffering from an ear infection and that, combined with medication, badly affected his balance, for which reason he specifically asked that he be taken to the hospital for a checkup.
“An upright and balanced David Hasselhoff walked around Beverly Hills today, just one day after his people say a combination of medications – including an ear infection med – messed up his equilibrium and put him in the hospital. On the flip side, David’s ex sounded the alarm yesterday and had someone call 911, claiming her 17-year-old daughter Hayley believed David was drunk and needed emergency help.” TMZ says in one of today’s posts, next to a photo of Hasselhoff leaving the hospital.
The actor has a history in emergency trips to the hospital, as we also reported back in May. Back then, though, he did not deny paramedics were called because he had been drinking, although he did infirm reports that he was so intoxicated he was no longer responsive to his daughter’s words, as reports in the media had it.
“He was barely breathing when they got him at the hospital. He’s recovering. Pam [Bach] was at his bedside till 4am this morning. This is about the seventh time he’s been taken to a hospital over the last few years with alcohol poisoning. How many visits will it take before he dies?” an unnamed source was telling the media back then. Then too it was his daughter who called his ex who, in her turn, called an ambulance to Hasselhoff’s home.
