The Spider director is developing Bruce Wagner's original screenplay Maps to the Stars, according to Screen Daily.

David Cronenberg is currently working on his long-gestating London Fields, based on Martin Amis' 1991 novel of the same name.

The famous Canadian director who released A History of Violence this year, announced that France's UGC has come on board London Fields as a co-producer and that the film is being structured as a Canada/France/UK co-production.

Cronenberg has recently abandoned his original screenplay for the sci-fi thriller Painkillers.

One finds one doesn't like it five years later. It feels like it's from another era. The film would have focused on a police detective who is sent undercover to save humanity in a future where surgery is the new sex and pain the new forbidden pleasure, said the director.
