David Beckham is done: as announced last week, he’s retiring as a professional football player at the end of the season. His final game with Paris Saint Germain was this weekend.

The video above is of the emotional moment when Becks said goodbye to his mates and his fans.

He was in tears as he gave out hugs, and the crowd gave him a standing ovation, cheering “Beckham” and “Merci David.”

Even his wife Victoria Beckham, who has a reputation of never showing any emotion when out in public, was driven to tears by the amazing goodbye he got. Dlisted has photos to confirm it.

“I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level,” David said in his announcement last week, adding that he’d never imagine he’d get to be where he is today.
